"God does not play dice"
- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was born on 14 March 1879 in Ulm, Germany. He is regarded as one of the most influential physicists of all time.
Work
Einstein's most famous equation is E=mc2. This expresses the relationship between energy (E), mass (m) and the speed of light (c). It revolutionised our understanding of energy and mass.
His theories of relativity challenged traditional notions of space, time, and gravity. They also provided a new framework for understanding the behaviour of objects in extreme conditions, such as travelling near the speed of light and being affected by strong gravitational fields.
Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect.
Legacy
His contributions extended far beyond this. They covered various fields of physics which included quantum mechanics and statistical physics.
Albert Einstein died on 18 April 1955. He died in Princeton, New Jersey, USA.
