Standard Introduction

Home | Icebreakers | Introductions | Standard Introduction

The standard course introduction is to go round the room and have the students give a brief autobiography to include:

  • Their name
  • Job title
  • Organisation
  • How long they have been in the company
  • Hobbies and interests

This method is a bit pedestrian and it often does not achieve what it sets out to achieve. People stop listening when they are thinking about what they are going to say. In a class of 20 this introduction can take up to an hour and each person is only directly involved for 5 per cent of the time.
