The standard course introduction is to go round the room and have the students give a brief autobiography to include:
This method is a bit pedestrian and it often does not achieve what it sets out to achieve. People stop listening when they are thinking about what they are going to say. In a class of 20 this introduction can take up to an hour and each person is only directly involved for 5 per cent of the time. |
